One final paragraph of advice: Do not burn yourselves out. Be as I am, a reluctant enthusiast, a part-time crusader, a half-hearted fanatic. Save the other half of yourselves and your lives for pleasure and adventure. It is not enough to fight for the land; it is even more important to enjoy it. While you can. While it's here. So get out there and hunt and fish and mess around with your friends, ramble out yonder and explore the forests, climb the mountains, bag the peaks, run the rivers, breathe deep of that yet sweet and lucid air, sit quietly for a while and contemplate the precious stillness, the lovely, mysterious, and awesome space. Enjoy yourselves, keep your brain in your head and your head firmly attached to your body, the body active and alive, and I promise you this much; I promise you this one sweet victory over our enemies, over those desk-bound men and women with their hearts in a safe deposit box, and their eyes hypnotized by desk calculators. I promise you this; You Will Outlive the Bastards.

An Overview of the Adventures

On July 9th my job in Jeon-ju South Korea officially starts! Sean and I will be leaving the country on the 6th of July and begin our journey to teach English abroad. Our contract is for 12 months and we could not be more excited to start.

Before we leave for Korea we will be taking a road trip up and down the east coast.  We wanted to explore a bit of our own country and driving from Miami to New York City will hopefully be enough to last us for at least a year. Visiting family and friends before we are off should be a lot of fun, and just what we need to send us off right!

It was a tedious process to find the right job but we are very glad that we worked so hard at it. My life will  change rapidly within the next month. Housing, food, language, law, customs, etc will all be different and this blog was set up to document as many new things as possible. I wanted to keep my friends and family up to date on my adventures, and this seems to be the easiest way to accomplish this. My goal is to post on here at least once a week for the entirety of my trip.

Comments, questions, and encouragement are all welcome! Please feel free to add your email in order to get updates on when I do actually post so you won't miss anything =]

  2. If you have time, you should create a bucket list of things you want to do for us readers and then let us know as you check things off it. You can even open it up for suggestions ;)
