Pippin wooed us immediately and I was enthralled by her adorable small little self. At first she was a little bit shy and intimidated by our presence so we all sat in Jess's room and attempted to attract her attention. It was so good to see my friend and to just sit and talk about nothing/ everything for a little while. By the time we were ready to go in search of a little bit of food Pippin had revealed her true nature.
It is ok though because I was in love and decided to give her lots of attention even though she wasn't always a fan of it. I am sure she secretly loved it...
We snuck in a walk in between/ during the rainstorms. Scarfed down a quick snack at the 7-11 and got rained on almost the whole walk home. That night Jess treated us to a feast! She cooked up a home made phenomenal Spinach Chicken Alfredo Stromboli.
As Bridezilla played in the background we ate our dinner and finished it up with home made apple crumble deliciousness. We spent the rest of the night enjoying one another's company coloring. Master pieces were begun that night!
We stayed up late to try and complete them but alas the night was not long enough. Early the next morning we volunteered to take Jess to school and because of the wonderful person that she is, we got breakfast muffin things to go. The muffins were filled with egg, spinach, bacon, and her love.
They were very good. ( <----- understatement)
After a sad "see you later" we were again on the road.
The Florida leg of the trip was very rainy and gloomy. The weather quickly cleared up as we approached South Carolina.
I took short naps along the way and we listened to the "Lions of Lucerne" as our book on tape. It was very good and managed to keep our attention off the length of the drive. Along the way we picked up some Peach Salsa from a road side stand and put my mom's donated Ritz's crackers to use.
We got into Columbia with plenty of time to hang out before dinner. After eating home made mac and cheese concoction with a chocolate cake pudding thingy for dessert, it was garage chill out time. It is so good to see his family and their beautiful new home. This morning we were on voluntary Mason duty (Mason is Sean's nephew) and we had fun exploring Columbia's thrift stores for a few hours.
Our next few days include a dinner party in Greenville, SC, a lunch in Raleigh, NC, and Washington DC trip. I am psyched.

Sounds like a great start! Good food, good friends...good times! Hugs to both of you!
